Product Description

Overview

KL-DCBN is the brown weatherproof snap-back cover for a compatible 400 A cam-type panel receptacle. A high-impact, flame-retardant ABS body, corrosion-resistant stainless-steel hardware and a supplied gasket form a durable closure for the unused receptacle. The standard 57.3 mm square frame supports retrofit installation, and the brown lid continues brown IEC-oriented identification at the panel.

Why It Matters

Panel receptacles may remain exposed through outdoor staging, transport and long periods between connections. The hinged lid stays attached to the enclosure and closes over the receptacle as soon as the feeder is removed, helping exclude falling rain, dust and debris. The brown finish keeps the circuit-identification cue visible directly at the connection point.

Key Features

  • Snap-Back Closure: The hinged lid remains attached to the panel and covers the receptacle after cable removal.
  • Gasketed NEMA 3R Protection: The supplied gasket helps resist falling rain and outdoor exposure when correctly installed.
  • Retrofit Frame: The standard 57.3 mm square frame and 38 mm mounting centers suit compatible 400 A cam-type receptacles.
  • Brown Identification: Matches brown-coded sets commonly found in iec-oriented inventories.
  • Listed Performance: UL Enclosure Types 3R environmental rating with HB / UL94 flame class.

Applications

Designed for 400 A cam-type receptacles on touring distros, generator panels, rental power equipment, industrial enclosures and temporary event-power systems.

Compatibility

Fits compatible 400 A cam-type panel receptacles using the listed 57.3 mm frame and 38 x 38 mm mounting-center pattern. It is not interchangeable with the smaller circular KL-DCXX2 cover for 150 A receptacles.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where does a brown receptacle cover fit an IEC-oriented system?

Brown can continue an IEC-style identification plan at the panel face, keeping the visual cue present when the cable is disconnected.

Does KL-DCBN use a four-point mounting flange?

Yes. Four 6.5 mm holes secure the square frame, with 38 mm between horizontal and vertical mounting centers.

What supports repeated opening on rental equipment?

High-impact ABS resists knocks at the panel face, while corrosion-resistant stainless-steel hardware supports repeated hinge operation.

Which measurements matter when placing adjacent receptacles?

Use the 57.3 mm frame width and 50 mm cover height for layout, and allow additional clearance for the hinged lid to open.
